Big Brother’s Helen Adams swaps fame for hairdressing career – no word on whether she still loves blinking
Big Brother’s Helen Adams has been spotted 20 years after finding fame on Big Brother and has swapped the limelight for a career as a hairdresser.
The former reality star, 42, was snapped heading to work at an upmarket salon in Bristol this week, with three bags of equipment in tow ahead of her shift.
Helen is now working as a senior stylist and showed off her own mane of beautifully coloured sand coiffed hair as she walked to the salon in an all-black outfit.
She had been one of the breakout stars of the second series of Big Brother in 2001, winning over a legion of fans with her one-liners, including “I love blinking I do”.
While there is no word on whether she still loves blinking, Helen looks to be loving her new vocation.
During her time in the house, Helen struck up a flirtation with Paul Clarke but never took their relationship any further on the show.
After filming ended and Helen had split from her boyfriend, the pair began a relationship together, even being offered their own reality TV show, which they turned down.
Paul and Helen bought a house in North London and were together for five years but eventually split in 2006 due to the pressures of fame and being so far from her family in Wales.
They managed to maintain a close friendship after their break-up and even did interviews together following their split.
Like Helen, who finished second on the series behind winner Brian Dowling, Paul also chose to pursue a career outside of the spotlight, going into car design.
Paul told Heat magazine after their split: ‘For the last five years, on a daily basis people have been asking me, ”How’s Helen? When are you getting married?” and I’ve never met these people before in my life. It starts to drain you.
‘It’s not that I don’t like talking about Helen, I just wanted to get away from it and be a private person again.’
