No other sporting personality attained the fame and glory that Kobe Bryant did. The hardcore Lakers fan was one of the best players in the history of this franchise. Although his shooting ability was never in doubt, it was his will-to-win that stood apart. Having the ability to raise his game during the clutch moments was incredible.

After his sudden demise, which left the world shocked, the league inducted Bryant into the Hall of Fame Class of 2020. It is a fitting tribute to one of the best athletes the world has produced. Anthony Davis sat down with the reporters to comment on the induction of Bryant to the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Anthony Davis mentioned a Twitter post where he acknowledged the influence of Kobe Bryant on his career.

Anthony Davis’ fitting tribute to Kobe Bryant

The 2020 NBA champion, Anthony Davis, spoke about the influential Kobe Bryant in an interview on Friday.

“Just for me, just being someone that was knowing him since I stepped foot in the league, all the way back to the USA team, seeing everything he did on the floor, off the floor kind of inspired me to follow that same path and have that same work ethic. And then just being here in a Laker uniform, it’s even more inspiring for me to try to continue the legacy that he built here.

And I think that goes for guys all around the league, just being able to realize the importance of his body of work on our game and for our generation. He’s the guy that everyone looked up to and wanted to be like,” said Davis.

This shows the influence that Kobe had on the younger players. The media called him the second coming of Jordan, and he lived up to the hype. ‘The Black Mamba’ will forever be in our hearts because of the undeniable passion he displayed on the court.

Davis’ growing legacy with Los Angeles Lakers

The ‘Unibrow’, along with LeBron James, won the NBA title with the Lakers last season. However, the franchise currently in seventh place will enter the play-in tournament this season. Davis averages over 21.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.

Having the ability to shoot from the perimeter, and possessing a good basketball IQ is what separates Anthony Davis from the rest of the Big Men. In addition to his offensive skill set, the power forward is a dominant shot-blocker and a great interior defender.

Anthony Davis is an important player for the Los Angeles Lakers. While he and LeBron have ended the title drought of the franchise, they would look to add more honors in the upcoming future and cement their legacy as the league’s top players. But nobody could deny the fact that Kobe’s influence on these aspiring players. Truly a marvel at his craft.
