Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Cousin Trashes Khamzat Chimaev for Disrespectful Comments

The undefeated star boasts close to 3 million followers on his Instagram and is one of the most followed athletes in the sport. 

All the fame and adulation that has come his way is a double-edged sword. Being a popular star means the media and fans scrutinize every action he takes and every comment he makes. This was the case recently when ‘Borz’ made a scathing remark about undefeated former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib Nurmagomedov and his brothers hit back at Khamzat Chimaev

‘Borz’ recently landed himself in hot water. Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic, recently made a few comments on Khabib Nurmagomedov during his Instagram live session. ‘Borz’ who was viewing the live session commented, “We’ll tear him apart if he wants”. 

This has obviously not sat down well with Nurmagomedov and his team. Nurmagomedov’s cousin Abubakar Nurmagomedov took it upon himself to hit back at the Chechen star for his latest comments that have crossed lines.

He stated, “Khamzat, I see you quickly changed your shoes: after moving to Sweden and writing a complaint against your own Chechen Republic that you are being infringed upon, you received documents for a good life in Sweden. But now having gained fame, you, I look, have changed, now you have come back and live in Chechnya, and everything is fine with you. I’m happy for you. Don’t lose this comfort zone.”

The UFC fighter continued, “Not long ago in America, you sat at the same table with us and ate, trained in the same gym, went to the Mosque together and called us Brothers. And now you write that you will tear someone up. Yes, I agree, everyone has the right to express their opinion. But be careful with your statements.” (translated using Google translate)

Fans know Nurmagomedov and his team for being fiercely loyal. An attack against any of them is considered as an attack on all of them, and this was made clear when ‘The Eagle’ and his team confronted Artem Lobov for the comments he made. This kick-started their rivalry with Conor McGregor and his team. Whether the same happens with Chimaev and Nurmagomedov remains to be seen.
