The Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul exhibition is fast approaching and is the talk of the sport right now. The pair will fight in an 8-round fight at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 5. So ahead of their bout, we look back at Mayweather’s last five fights and see what it means for Logan Paul.

Tenshin Nasukawa

The most recent opponent ‘TBE’ faced in the ring was Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. The pair fought in a lucrative exhibition bout on New Year’s Eve in 2019. Unsurprisingly, ‘Money Mayweather’ destroyed the young Japanese fighter with three knockdowns in the very first round.

Conor McGregor

Before facing Nasukawa, Mayweather fought his last professional bout against UFC superstar Conor McGregor. The bout marked Mayweather’s 50th professional fight, and he showed his experience. ‘TBE’ schooled McGregor with a fantastic defensive display and stepped on it in the later rounds to knock out ‘The Notorious’ in round 10 and retired with a perfect 50-0 record.

Andre Berto

Although McGregor was Mayweather’s last fight, it was after a two-year hiatus. Thus, there were no belts on the line. Mayweather’s last title fight came in 2015 against Andre Berto. The champion showed his incredible defensive skills and countered Berto with hard combinations throughout the fight. Berto could barely land a shot, and ‘Money Mayweather’ took home the unanimous decision victory.

Manny Pacquiao

Arguably the biggest fight of Mayweather’s career came towards the end of his career. ‘TBE’ took on Manny Pacquiao in one of boxing’s most lucrative fights in 2015. After a lot of hype in the build-up to the fight, Mayweather showed his class and put on a counter-punching masterclass. Although Pacquiao was the busier of the two, he could not stop Mayweather from winning a clear unanimous decision victory.

Marcos Maidana II

Another performance that proved Mayweather was a class apart from the rest was his rematch with Marcos Maidana. The two fought twice in 2014, and the first fight was close, with many suggesting Maidana lost unfairly.

However, in the rematch, Mayweather showed his class and dismantled Maidana. Although there were times in the fight where Maidana hurt Mayweather, the former multi-weight champion never let him settle into a rhythm and got the unanimous decision victory, thus putting any doubts to bed.

Therefore, if Mayweather’s last five bouts are anything to go by, we can expect a similar situation in his next fight. Although Logan Paul has the physical advantages, he will struggle to land anything significant on ‘TBE’ while Mayweather will counter his punches with ease.
