Ashley Cain shares sweet tattoo tribute to baby daughter Azaylia after her death
Ashley Cain has revealed members of his family have had a tattoo tribute to his baby daughter Azaylia after her death.
Azaylia, who he shares with girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, was eight-months-old when she died in April following a battle with a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia.
The Ex On The Beach star has paid tribute to his daughter on Instagram, sharing his struggle with grief with his social media followers and his and Safiyya’s plans for her funeral.
On Monday the 30-year-old posted the matching tattoo his family members had had done to pay tribute to Azaylia, who had battled cancer since she was just eight weeks old.
The black inking simply said ‘Azaylia Diamond Cain’ in capital letters with a small image of a diamond underneath the wording, referencing her middle name.
In the caption the grieving father wrote: ‘I love you. Azaylia Diamond Cain’.
Safiyya shared a video explaining that ‘some of the girls in the family have just been inked’ with the sweet tribute.
It comes ahead of the baby’s funeral which Ashley announced will take place on May 21, calling it ‘Azaylia’s Day’, and go ahead in line with coronavirus restrictions.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, words of sympathy & patience over the last few weeks, while we come to terms with the loss of Azaylia.
‘We have been incredibly moved by the support we have received far and wide and all the beautiful gesture of kindness will live in hearts forever.
‘We have been in correspondence with Warwickshire Police, to understand how we can give people who would like to pay their respects, the chance to do so.’
Ashley added that a private service will be held for family only, however beforehand Azaylia will be given ‘her last journey though Nuneaton town’.
He continued: ‘As truly difficult as the day will be, we are going to give it our all to keep Azaylia’s day an uplifting day of remembrance for her life and encourage anyone attending to show their love by clapping and making joyous noise of celebration as the cortege goes by!
‘We would love to make her final journey a special one as she watches from heaven. LETS GO CHAMP!’
Donations to the fundraising page in Azaylia’s name has passed £1.6million and the couple plan to use some of the money to set up a charity in their daughter’s name.
