Jeremy Vine in tears as he hugs his mum for the first time since lockdown in special live birthday show
JEREMY Vine wiped away tears as he hugged his mum for the first time in more than a year live on TV today.
On a special birthday edition of his Channel 5 show, Jeremy, 56, got the best gift of all from mum Diana.
Dressed in a vibrant floral shirt, Jeremy popped out from behind a bar and gently greeted his mum who arrived carrying a birthday present.
He said: “Take it easy, mum, this is coming up from my birthday, and I resisted giving you a hug when I saw you arrive during the adverts.”
Giving her a warm cuddle, he continued: “Hello, are you alright mum? I’m going to cry now. Thanks, mum.”
She said: “Love you, darling.”

A third shared: “I did shed a tear, not gonna lie!!”
Today the government eased coronavirus rules allowing friends and families to share hugs.
Pubs and restaurants can also serve punters indoors too in a much needed boost for the hospitality industry.
