Fox has dropped the first trailer for Welcome To Flatch, the American remake of British comedy This Country.

After brother and sister Daisy May and Charlie Cooper ended the hit show for good last year, it has travelled across the pond with a new cast of characters.

Much like This Country, Welcome To Flatch sees TV cameras descend on the remote, fictional titular town to study the lives of the young people living there.

Instead of Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe, we are introduced to cousins Shrub and Kelly Mallet (played by newcomers Sam Straley and Chelsea Holmes) and the bizarre things they get up to day to day.

We also meet their version of the Vicar, Father Joe (Seann William Scott), who tries to keep his cool when everyone in the town is testing him, as well as Joe’s ex-girlfriend (Aya Cash) who awkwardly confesses they split after they moved to Flatch because ‘you can’t compete with god or Tinder’.

In the series trailer Shrub and Kelly take part in a skillet tossing contest, Kelly gets a bad tattoo and the pair try to launch a cab company.

Sex and the City’s Jenny Bicks is penning the script, with A Simple Favour’s Paul Feig directing.

The official Fox synopsis reads: ‘When a documentary crew sets out to explore the lives of residents in a small American town – their dreams, their concerns – they stumble upon the midwestern town of Flatch, which is made up of many eccentric personalities.

‘It’s a place you want to visit and maybe even stay. If there was a decent motel. Which there is not.’

Daisy May and Charlie will remain connected to the new series as executive producers.

Daisy May recently teased that she and Charlie are hard at work on their next project and it ‘couldn’t be more different’ from This Country.
