INSANE! Khabib Nurmagomedov Predicted the Fall of Tony Ferguson After His Loss to Justin Gaethje

UFC lightweight icon and former interim champion Tony Ferguson has suffered a heart-wrenching fall from grace after having conceded his third loss on the trot.

He butt heads with Beneil Dariush in the hopes of finding his way back to winning ways, and the title picture, at UFC 262 this Saturday. But the spirited Iranian wrestled him out of the match in a unanimous decision victory.

Looking back from where the skid started, Justin Gaethje was the one to defeat him and break his 12 fight win streak last year.

Few days after the fight, Ferguson’s greatest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, appeared in an interview where he predicted the end of Ferguson’s ride to the top.

“And one day, someone gonna beat you or something gonna happen,” he had said.

“God don’t give to nobody free power, reaction, mental, everything in one level always. One day, it’s gonna go down. And his day come, it was in May. Tony Ferguson’s time is finished. How he gonna come back?”

‘The Eagle’ had predicted that somebody would beat ‘El Cucuy’ again. He declared that when someone takes damage as El Cucuy did against Gaethje, they have a hard time coming out of it, even if they are Tony Ferguson.

Khabib then described how Ferguson took damage. “He takes too much damage. You see how he give up at the end of the fight, he go like this(waiving his hands),” he concluded.

Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje- How it happened at UFC 249?

Ferguson had entered his match against Gaethje on the back of 12 straight victories. The battle took place at UFC 249 for the interim lightweight title.

Gaethje produced a striking masterclass for the world to see. He dominated Ferguson from start to finish. He attacked Ferguson with leg kicks and punches to deflate him by the end of 3 rounds.

The ‘Highlight’ had an answer to all of Ferguson’s attacks and never let him settle in. In the end, after punishing him for 5 rounds, Gaethje picked up a TKO win.

What’s next for Ferguson after 3 defeats?

After his defeat against Gaethje, Ferguson went on to lose two fights. One against Charles Oliveira and his most recent outing against Beneil Dariush; his title hopes have consequently suffered a huge blow.

Now, his future is completely in the hands of the promotion. It is unlikely that he will get a top-ranked fight soon. If he fights again, it could be a fighter ranked from the end or an unranked fighter. A possible matchup with Diego Ferreira or even a rising fighter like Islam Makhachev could be an option.

Regardless of what happens next, Ferguson would want to end his career on his terms. So, don’t be surprised if these losses spark a flame inside him for one last glory run.
