“People Think I’m Crazy”- David Haye Backs Anthony Joshua to Beat Tyson Fury

After several rigmaroles and verbal confrontations, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally seem aligned to face each other in a massive unification bout on August 14. Meanwhile, the news has already split the boxing world, urging everyone to take sides in the matchup.

That said, former world champion David Haye has favored Anthony Joshua to win the fight. ‘The Hayemaker’ didn’t demean Tyson Fury’s chances in the mix but pointed at several factors that might work well for ‘AJ’.

Speaking with the media, Haye said, “I like the dedication of Joshua and I think he has a good chance of winning it early. People think I’m crazy but that’s just the way I see it. I loved his fight against Wladimir Klitschko–he took his licks and got back up and showed the heart of a champion.”

Following his second title win over Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, Anthony Joshua has defended his belts with a KO over Kubrat Pulev in December, last year. So, he has been active recently and looks in shape before the fight against Tyson Fury. Moreover, ‘AJ’ hasn’t indulged himself in trash-talking and despite Fury’s scratchy remarks over time, he has chosen to not respond.

WBC titlist Tyson Fury has had his last pro fight against Deontay Wilder in February. Although he won the fight in a lopsided showdown, the long lay-off from action might not be beneficial for him. Nevertheless, David Haye predicted to see a knockout in the outcome and shocked several fans.

Undefeated champion, Tyson Fury hasn’t left any blueprint for his rivals to outline a plan of stopping him. He has appeared flawless in his 31 fight career and despite being knocked down a couple of times, none could ever vanquish ‘The Gypsy King’.

However, Anthony Joshua is a rare physical specimen and is one of the hardest punchers in the world right now. On his road to world championship and defense, ‘AJ’ has vanquished several elites. Hence, if he connects with a power punch, Joshua can shock the world.

With all four world titles on the line, the winner will depart as the undisputed, unified world heavyweight champion. The title was last held by Lennox Lewis, and either Fury or Joshua will put their name next on the list.
