WWE’s Noam Dar wants to send Drew McIntyre ‘through fire door’ as revenge for ‘violent’ matches

Noam Dar would love to revisit his past rivalry with WWE superstar Drew McIntyre and send him ‘through a fire door’.

The NXT UK star – who will have Ilja Dragunov as his guest on the Supernova Sessions this week – has reflected on the ‘violent’ battles he endured with his fellow Scotsman on the independent scene in promotions like ICW and PCW.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘Drew McIntyre and I had a few battles over here and I remember them being violent, which is obviously what we like to do. I also remember how much he made me step up.

‘He’s a true professional inside the ring and outside the ring. I was much younger at the time, and I’m developing every time I get in that ring and getting better every time I’m in that ring.

‘Hopefully one day I’ll get to get a bit of revenge on Drew McIntyre. Perhaps I can powerbomb him through a fire door!’

The 27-year-old wrestler – who made his name in the UK in his late teens – admitted he was inspired by McIntyre when he returned to his roots after his WWE release back in 2014 and starting working with the next generation.

‘Drew not only came back and lit his own career on fire and really made a name for himself on the independent scene, he also came back and gave back to the scene over here that brought him up,’ Noam smiled.

‘That’s just who he is as a person, he wants to help and elevate everyone around him. That’s exactly what he’s done in ICW. We’re all grateful for it personally and as a collective.’

Even at such a young age, Noam has become one of the veterans of the NXT UK brand, having been signed by WWE for 205 Live back in 2016 with his big move announced just weeks after his 22nd birthday.

An injury the following year stalled his rise, but he was among the cruiserweights again in 2018 before the next year saw a return to the UK as part of the black and gold brand.

Now, he’s a fixture on the show – which has attracted the attention of the likes of SmackDown star Kevin Owens – and while he’s got plenty of goals still to achieve on these shores, he’s not ruling out heading back to the US in the future.

‘It’s a position that I take very seriously,’ he admitted. ‘The UK scene is important to me, of course.

‘I left the UK scene at a young age, and I felt like there was a lot of stuff that I needed to complete here, a lot of boxes that need ticking. Once I’m done with that, we’ll see what’s next for me.’

*NXT UK airs Thursdays at 8pm on the WWE Network and Fridays at 10pm on BT Sport.
