“Always Built Mediocre Cars”: Ex-F1 Driver Tears Aston Martin Apart for Poor Vettel Form

Things haven’t gone well for Sebastian Vettel since joining Aston Martin from Ferrari this season. The German has faced many problems with car, and hence hasn’t scored a single point for the Silverstone-based team. However, a former F1 driver, Marc Surer has defended the four-time world champion, stating the problems lie at Aston Martin and not with Vettel.

The German would aim to bounce back and put an end to his bad streak of runs. He will aim for a better result at the upcoming race at Monaco, where he will try to score his first F1 points of the season.

As quoted by Formula Passion, Marc said, ” Vettel did everything right. The problem is the history of the team. They have always built mediocre cars. Suddenly last year they had a decent car because it was a 100% copy of Mercedes .”

While it can still be seen that the car has the same philosophy as Mercedes, they have clearly made it worse. Vettel probably thought it would take off easily because Mercedes was involved too, somehow,” concluded. (Translated from Italian via Google)

Will things get better for him at Aston Martin?

The German left Ferrari at the end of last season, after having a difficult year at the team. A new challenge came calling to Vettel and he took it, but things didn’t look good from the first race itself.

The four-time world champion has not been able to score a single point yet this season and now sits in 16th place in the championship. He will hope to end this run of bad luck in the upcoming races.
