Former Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramírez has joined the cast of HBO Max’s Sex and the City revival series, And Just Like That…

The star- who famously played Callie Torres on the medical drama, will be a series regular alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis on the show.

Sara – who recently revealed they identify as non-binary, has been tapped up to play comedian Che Diaz.

According to the logline, the character is ‘a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian that hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured.

‘Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular.’

Sara’s character is expected to help fill the void left by original cast member Kim Cattrall, who will not be reprising her role as sex-positive Samantha Jones in the 10-episode series.

The casting news comes shortly after Jason Lewis, who portrayed Smith Jerrod – a model boyfriend to Samantha Jones – in the original series, confirmed his character will not appear in the sequel show.

Earlier this year, Chris North provided fans with hope that Big could return to the small screen, with the actor writing on Instagram: ‘Everything changes – including announcements in the rags.’

Amid speculation of Big’s return, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star John seemingly confirmed that Aidan will be back on the scene.

Speaking to Page Six, the actor said: ‘I’m going to do the show,’ describing the development as ‘very exciting’.

Expressing his belief that he’s going to be in ‘quite a few’ of the 10 episodes in the limited series, he said: ‘I like all those people, they’ve been very nice to me.’

And Just Like That… will air on HBO Max.
