Two dead after gunman with ‘assault rifle’ opens fire at house before going on the run as cops launch manhunt in Germany
GERMAN police have launched a manhunt for a gunman armed with an ‘assault rifle’ after two people were killed at house.
Cops discovered the two bodies in Dänischenhagen in Schleswig-Holstein after reports of a shooting in a home in a residential area.
The property in Rosenweg is currently being secured following the incident.
Cops have also cordoned off parts of Holtenauer Strasse and the brewery district in Kiel city centre, according to NDR.
A police office spokeswoman said police are looking into a white SUV, which can “possibly be assigned to the perpetrator,” the outlet reports.
Local police tweeted: “There has been a homicide in Dänischenhagen. We are searching the area for the perpetrator. There is no evidence so far. We will inform you as soon as more is known.”
In another tweet it informed that road traffic around the brewery quarter will be impaired, but otherwise, there will be no restrictions.
