BTS star V has given an updated on his delayed mixtape and fans might have to be a bit more patient.

Not that BTS’ fanbase, called ARMY, will mind waiting for what they have dubbed ‘KTH 1’ in reference to Kim Taehyung (V’s real name)’s first solo project.

The South Korean star confessed that he found it ‘harder and more complex than I imagined it would be’ working on something completely his own without the support of the other members, but he’s excited to show fans his ‘colour’.

He told Rolling Stone: ‘We’ve worked and made music as a group, and as a group only. So working on my own tape means that I have to do everything related to all the songs on the album. I have to take part in writing the lyrics and the melodies for all the songs and the production process.

‘So, it is a bit of a pressure to bear all of the load that is distributed among the other members for a group album. So it is tough. But what is good about it is it gives me an opportunity to show who I am, and show the music that really has the colour of Kim Taehyung, the colour of V, to our ARMY.

‘So that’s great opportunity of course, and that’s what makes creating this mixtape so much fun and fulfilling.’

He revealed he had planned to put it out last year then decided to move it to early 2021 instead before pushing it back.

The Singularity singer added: ‘But again, it turned out to be a bit more tough than I thought it would be! So now I’m looking at the end of this year.’

V hinted at what people could expect from his mixtape in April when he released a surprise song on social media.

The Bangtan boys – V, Suga, Jin, Jimin, RM, J-Hope and Jungkook, are gearing up for the release of new single Butter on May 21.

Their last comeback was English-language single Dynamite, which not only earned them a Grammy nomination, but broke all kinds of records.

It received the most simultaneous views for a music video on YouTube and set the record for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours following its release.

Dynamite also holds the record for the highest number of YouTube viewers for a video premiere, with the video clocking up a huge three to four million live concurrent viewers.
