How Can the Steph Curry Led Warriors Clinch a Playoff Berth After Loss Against Lakers?

In an edge-of-the-seat thriller game, the Lakers crushed Warriors in the first round of play-in at Staples Center and clinched the Playoff spot. It was as dramatic as any game could turn into. But unfortunately, Golden State was left to toil at the losing end of the contest.

Lakers vs Warriors was a highly anticipated matchup that turned out to be a treat for fans.

The Warriors were leading the scorecard throughout the game until things turned the other way in the last quarter. The game-winning shot was made by none other than the King – a daggering three-pointer less than a minute before they called it a game.

Steph Curry is still a game away from the playoffs

After a 100-103 defeat to the defending champions, the Warriors are caught up in a muddle. It’s been Steph Curry‘s season considering the tremendous job he’s done on the court, but now the Playoffs are another game away.

Since GSW is the eight-seed team in the West, they get another chance at the playoff berth in round 2. Steph and Co. will face the Memphis Grizzlies after the latter pushed the San Antonio Spurs out of the postseason race.

It’s the last and only chance for the Warriors to clinch the eighth seed and enter the crucial leg of the league. Not many had foreseen this team to be at such an uncertain stage, but Klay Thompson‘s absence is definitely hurting them to date.

Warriors vs Grizzlies – A young man’s battle

Other than the star guard himself, the likes of Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Kent Bazemore are adding worthy contributions to the side. The Lakers, who clearly out-size Warriors in physical built, couldn’t get past GSW’s defense in the first half.

Steve Kerr has polished a young side to form a competitive set of players. But will they be enough for making it to the Playoffs? Or even if they do, will they be able to survive that heat of the postseason?

It’s just a matter of one game and fans will soon have answers to these questions. Steph is heading against Ja Morant in the second-round matchup. Morant was the Rookie of the Year in 2020 and he’s been terrific in only two seasons at the league.

The team that wins this contest will clinch the eighth seed in the playoffs. It’s going to be two young teams on the floor battling for the same seed. Who’s your pick?
