LeBron James was crucial for the Lakers down the stretch, especially after a poor first half. James made a dagger three that ultimately proved to be the game-winner. Now, the Lakers shift their focus to Phoenix, as James faces off against one of his closest friends in Chris Paul.

LeBron James heaps praise on CP3 and the Suns

After the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors, James spoke about the Phoenix Suns. He had high praise for his close friend Chris Paul, who played at an MVP level this season. Furthermore, he spoke in glowing terms about Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, and the rest of the Phoenix Suns.

LeBron had praise for the Lakers’ first-round playoff opponent – the Suns.

Bron said, “They’ve played extremely well all year and they deserve to host home court in the first round. And CP played an MVP caliber year all year and Book, Ayton has grown all year and they’ve given those guys a supporting cast around them. We know what we’re going to get out of CP and how great CP is, how great Book is.”

Lakers need to worry about the Suns

LeBron acknowledged how well DeAndre Ayton has played and improved this season. James spoke about how his team needs to be careful and focus on the Suns. They can’t just keep their attention on the Suns’ stars but must focus on the entire team, which helped them secure the second seed in the Western Conference this season. James understands the challenge of facing the second-best team in the West.

He said, “Up and coming resurgence from Ayton but it’s the other guys we’ve got to make sure we’re keying on because they’ve been playing extremely well all year. That’s why they’ve been the second-best team in the west.”

Can the Los Angeles Lakers get past the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs? They will have to work very hard to beat the Suns. The Suns made an incredible jump this season, after missing the playoffs last year. But the Lakers still have one of the most talented squads in the league, even if they’re not in form.
