Kirstie Alley has alleged she has been ‘blackballed’ by Hollywood over her vocal support of Donald Trump and the Republican party.

The Cheers star claimed it is more acceptable to take illegal drugs and ‘sleep with sex workers’ than a Trump supporter in the industry.

Kirstie, 70, spoke out in favor of Trump in recent years and had previously explained that she chose to back the former president because he was ‘not a politician’.

Speaking to Tucker Carlson’s Fox New show on Wednesday, she stated: ‘People go, “You’re so brave.” I go, “No, I think I’m stupid”

‘It’s so strange to me because artists are free-thinkers, for the most part. You can be cooking meth and sleeping with hookers, as long as apparently you didn’t vote for Trump.’

She continued: ‘I feel like I’m in The Twilight Zone a bit, with the whole concept of it.’

The Look Who’s Talking star then claimed she had been unfollowed by numerous stars on Twitter because she chose to share her political views.

Kirstie couldn’t hide her frustration as she argued: ‘I’m going, “I’m the same person. I’m the girl who voted for Obama twice…You liked me when I voted for Obama and now you’re this?”

‘It’s made me have to rethink, weirdly, my whole friendships.’

Following the interview, Trump shared a statement calling the Emmy winner ‘strong and smart’ and ‘a great actress’.

She shared the message and said: ‘Just got a very kind acknowledgment. Thank you Sir, I wish you were still on Twitter … as you should be.’

Trump was permanently banned from Twitter in January after he voiced support for rioters who stormed the US Capitol.
