Wendy Williams has revealed the severity of her chronic condition, lymphoedema, sharing a photo of her heavily swollen feet.

The US daytime talk show host, who has been open about her health ordeal, shared an update on her condition with her Instagram followers.

In the photo, Wendy is seen sitting on a table with her swollen feet and ankles close to the camera. However on the bright side, she looked glamorous as ever with part of her green sparkly dress partially visible.

She captioned the image: ‘My Dr Laure is the French lady who’s helping me live with lymphedema. She scrubs & understands my disease is not curable only manageable.

‘Oh yes I’m wearing a sequin dress why not?! #lymphedema.’

Lymphoedema is a long term chronic condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissues. It can affect any part of the body but typically occurs in the arms and legs. The most common symptoms in addition to swelling are; a feeling of heaviness or tightness, restricted range of motion, aching or discomfort and recurring infections.

In 2019, Wendy, 56, revealed she had been diagnosed with lymphoedema after addressing paparazzi photos of her swollen legs.

Speaking on the Wendy Williams Show, she said: ‘It’s not going to kill me, but I do have a machine — and how dare you talk about the swelling of it all. It’s lymphoedema. I’ve got it under control.’

That year she took an extended break from her talk show after suffering complications with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune condition which affects the thyroid.

Alongside the photo of her swollen feet, Wendy urged her followers to donate to Lymphatic Education & Research Network, who have honoured her with their awareness award.

So far, donations have reached almost $3,400 (£2,400) of the $5k (£3.5k) target.

In March, Wendy revealed how her condition was impacting her dating life since divorcing husband Kevin Hunter.

At the time, she had struck up a romance with a man named Mike after hosting a competition on her TV show.

The presenter told the audience: ‘You know when I do go out with Mike… Here’s my thing about the lymphoedema.

‘I just want to wait until he really likes me before I show him [Mike] the rest of the story ‘cause I don’t wear socks in the house, and I don’t sleep with socks.’

She continued: ‘But he needs to understand if he rubs up against my feet, they’re not tender. They don’t hurt. But they’re rough and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s just a manageable disease. It’s not curable.’
