Brian May is out of surgery and already thriving as he updated fans following a procedure not for the faint of heart.

Revealing he went under the knife fully conscious, the Queen legend raved about his new eye patch and thanked his medical team.

Two hours after first revealing the procedure, the guitarist said nonshalantly: ‘And …. all done !! I really didn’t feel a thing. It was all done with local anaesthetic and a tiny bit of sedation.

‘So I was conscious throughout the whole thing – and fascinated by this amazing procedure. Only about 20 mins.’

Sporting a funky little eye patch to shield his peepers from pudding, he went on: ‘The patch stays on until tomorrow morning. It’s an iPatch! So obviously I’ll soon have to take it off and put it back on again. 😜 !

‘Big thanks to my eye surgeon the brilliant Robin Hamilton, and my anaesthetist Con, and all the lovely folks at the London Clinic who have taken care of me so kindly. Bri 😎’.’

Brian had earlier shared his pre-op look with his Instagram followers which gave them a terrible fright following his recent health scares.

With a marking letting the doc know which eye to go in on with the scalpel (handy that), the musician was in stellar spirits.

To him this op would be a ‘piece of cake’.

He wrote: ‘One Vision! All prepped and waiting … for a little bit of eye surgery. I’m in good hands. No need to worry. All in a day’s work.

‘It should really improve my focus – AND my stereoscopic vision. It’s a Piece o’ Cake … eeek ! Bri.’

Still, his announcement had left fans rattled as they feared the rocker had suffered another heart attack.

One wrote in the comments: OH MY GOD YOU SCARED ME TO DEATH,’ as another agreed: ‘Exactly! Except it’s the other way around, he’s giving us heart attacks rn.’

Another very worried punter chimed in: ‘Omg brian my heart just stopped for a good minute U BETTER RECOVER SOON.’
