BTS confirm first performance of new song Butter at Billboard Music Awards

BTS have announced that they will be performing their new song, Butter, at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards, and we’re seriously not ready.

The K-Pop legends – made up of V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin and J-Hope – blessed us all with their new track overnight, breaking records at the same time.

And we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Appearing at a press conference for the bop, they let slip that we’ll be seeing them take to the stage with Butter on May 23.

‘Our first Butter performance will be at the Billboard Music Awards,’ Suga confirmed.

‘For every song, the first performance is always… we’re anxious and excited, but also anxious and nervous. 

‘The Billboard Awards for us is a very significant, important, meaningful stage and event. I think we’re all very excited.

‘The fact we’re nominated in four categories is not easy of course so it’s a great honour. 

‘Especially top selling song and top selling sales artist – these two nominations are a first for BTS so that made me feel really great.’

Butter is already topping charts just hours after being released, with the Army living for the track as well as the colourful video.

The seven-piece appear to have totally smashed a record for the premiere, which landed on YouTube overnight, with around 3.8million tuning in to watch live.

It has landed more than 30million views at the time of writing, three hours after being released – with that number due to get even higher throughout the day.

Flocking to Twitter to discuss the clip, one penned: ‘BTS I LOVE YOU. This is wonderful, amazing and cool. #Butter #BTS #BTS_Butter.’

‘This song is gonna be the song of the year,’ another agreed.

‘Seriously this song is amazing! Definitely worth the hype,’ an Twitter user praised.

‘Does…does @BTS_twt truly understand what they have just created with Butter? Like this song is AMAZING. Every. Single. Part,’ a follower posted.

‘I hope you know, guys, that truly, ARMY loves this song soooo much. It’s so you  in the very best way! #BTS.’
