The UK remake of French comedy series Call My Agent! which is heading to Amazon Prime Video will feature star cameos from the likes of Helena Bonham Carter and Line of Duty actress Kelly Macdonald.

The original show, which has been a hit on Netflix, follows the employees of a Parisian talent agency who must scramble to keep their star clients happy and the business afloat after the death of its founder (read ‘talent agency’ and ‘death’ not ‘marketing agency’ and ‘pregnancy’, Emily in Paris stans).

The beef of the remake’s main cast will be provided by Oscar-winner and Harry Potter actor Jim Broadbent, The Morning Show’s Jack Davenport (forever in our hearts as Commodore Norrington), Tony-nominated Lydia Leonard and Vanity Fair actor Natasha Little.

The show is in good hands with executive producer John Morton, known for BBC parody series W1A, who will also write and direct the first two episodes.

Morton shared: ‘It’s great to be working with Amazon Prime Video who support creativity and gives us the freedom to put our own distinctively British stamp on the series.

‘It’s a privilege to be working with an extraordinary cast, along with some star-studded cameos, who together represent the best of Britain’s talent.’

Head of content for the UK, Ireland and Nordics at Prime Video Martin Backlund described the original show as a ‘runaway hit’ and said he was ‘delighted’ to work with the team to ‘bring a uniquely British slant for Prime Video members in the UK and Ireland’.

He continued: ‘The incredible ensemble cast, coupled with the talented team behind the cameras, means it’s sure to be something special.’

The original series, known as Dix Pour Cent in France for the traditional cut an agent tends to take from an acting client, stars Camille Cottin, Thibault de Montalembert, Grégory Montel and Liliane Rovère.

The show premiered on France 2 in 2015, and in 2021 it was confirmed that it would be going forward with both a 90 minute TV film and a fifth season.

Call My Agent! is available to stream on Netflix.
