GOOD NEWS! BNP Paribas Open 2021 to Return After Postponement

The BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells is traditionally the first Masters 1000 event on the ATP Tour and the first WTA 1000 tournament. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, it got canceled in 2020 and missed its March date this year. But now, the BNP Paribas Open 2021 is back on the cards with a new date for this season.

Situated in the deserts of California, the U.S.A., Indian Wells is famously known as the first half of the Sunshine Double; Miami Masters being the second half. It comes as the first men and women combined tournament after the first Grand Slam every year, the Australian Open.

Notably, the Miami Open 2021 went ahead without the Indian Wells tournament this year. The good news is that the Sunshine Double will complete in the second half of 2021.

BNP Paribas Open 2021 receives a green light

After postponement earlier this year, the ATP-WTA dual event worked strenuously to find a solution. Seemingly, the answer has come out, and it is October. Yes, the Indian Wells 2021 will happen in October; however, other details are still under discussion.

Unquestionably, the rescheduling of the tournament will affect both ATP and WTA calendars. Nonetheless, the Indian Wells organizers will be ready to go all this way.

Additionally, since the news arrived, fans are eager to know how much crowd percentage will be allowed at Indian Wells. Notably, the tournament will keep updating the details as they confirm.

At the Indian Wells 2021, Austrian ace Dominic Thiem will defend the men’s title, and Canadian star Bianca Andreescu will defend the women’s title.  Surprisingly, they both have had an undesirable start to their 2021 campaign.

But October is far, and there is a lot of tennis to come before the BNP Paribas Open. Most significantly, the three pending major tournaments, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open, will conclude before players travel to the Californian desert.

More good news from the Indian Wells Masters

With a confirmation for the 2021 season, Indian Wells also announced confirmation for 2021. More importantly, the tournament will find its original place back on the ATP Tour, that is, in March 2022.

Hence, the players and fans will enjoy tennis on the purple hard courts at the Indian Wells two times in six months. Then, a crowd full of roaring fans will remain as the only return left to return to normalcy in tennis.

All in all, the tennis season ahead has become more exciting. Hopefully, things will continue to improve, and tennis and the world will free from bubble life.
