Josh Taylor Reveals the Extra Quality That Sets Him Apart from Jose Ramirez
Ahead of their undisputed title clash on May 22, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ Josh Taylor claimed that he is more technical than his upcoming rival Jose Ramirez. Still undefeated, both men share a lot of similarities in their respective professional careers.
They both have been on a tear and sit atop the super lightweight division. That said, Taylor has vowed to vanquish Ramirez in their upcoming collision. The Scot believes to possess everything Ramirez has, with some added qualities.
Just hours before the fight, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ said, “You are relying on your power, relying on your power heart, determination. That’s all you have got, that’s all you are relying on. I have got heart, power, determination, as well. But I have also got the skill.”

“I have also got the boxing brain, and I have got the power to beat you. I am smarter than you. You know you are a one-dimensional fighter and I am gonna see you inside there.”

Ramirez holds more experience in the professional circuit. 26-0 as a pro, ‘Jagúar’ can rightly look into the eyes of Josh Taylor, 17-0. The American pugilist tasted gold for the first time in 2015 and has been a champion throughout, currently holding the WBC and WBO super-lightweight straps. So, he is a legitimate threat to Josh Taylor. Hence, fans cannot wait to see them box.
Josh Taylor is winning battles already
The much-awaited unification fight will happen at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, USA. Despite having to make the journey across the pond, Taylor has remained impeccable. In a chat with Top Rank, he revealed the details of his ongoing fight camp.
“Obviously training here, going through a whole lot of pain and misery, and then we are over here to Sunny Vegas, spending the last four-five and a half weeks over in the State side. So, the reason for going over so early is to get used to the time difference for one, but also the heat,” said Taylor.
While he dreams of becoming the unified super lightweight champion, a win over Ramirez might be the biggest achievement of his career. This weekend we will get to see who leaves will all the belts.
Will it be Josh Taylor or Jose Ramirez?
