Molly-Mae Hague hits back at ‘fake DMs’ amid Jake Paul row

Molly-Mae has slammed claims she sent Jake Paul a DM in 2018

Things with Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are getting more heated as Molly-Mae Hague waded into the row amid claims she slid into the YouTuber’s DMs.

Yesterday Jake shared what he alleged was a message from the Love Island star from 2018, in which it appeared Molly-Mae said she was heading to the US and asked whether he might want to show her around.

‘Might be coming to America later this year and have always been a fan of your videos,’ the alleged message from the star read. ‘Maybe you can show me around?!’

Well, it took fans around four seconds to surmise the message had been mocked up, mainly due to the incorrect handle for Molly-Mae as well as the use of the white love heart.

While this isn’t the kind of iOS knowledge we have front of mind, punters were all across the white heart’s inclusion in the iOS emoji selection in 2019 – a year after this message was supposedly sent.

Now Molly has hit back on Twitter, noting ‘Photoshop is scary’.

Not naming names, the reality star and entrepreneur – who also found fame on Youtube before heading into the Love Island villa in 2019 – wrote: ‘Times must be hard when you’re having to fake a DM…. Photoshop is scary.’

Jake had previously shared the post to Instagram after Tommy roped in big brother Tyson and basketballer Shaquille O’Neal to encourage the YouTuber to a boxing match in one of the most baffling of feuds.

In his response to the video, Jake had claimed: ‘You should be more worried about your girl sliding into a bunch of dudes’ DMs than you should be fighting me.’

However, people on social media are pretty savvy and were quick to dismiss the screenshot, pointing out the not-yet-existing-in-2018 emoji and the fact the username and account name in the grab were the wrong way round.

Another noticed the homework hadn’t been done, as they wrote on Twitter: ‘If ur gonna fake a dm at least know that in the uk they add “xx” at the end of every message lol!’

One of Molly’s fans also defended the star, stating that if the message was real, it was before she began dating Tommy.

‘Even if you did, it was 2018 and you don’t need to justify it,’ they wrote. ‘Lol 2019 you did love island. So, either way this isn’t relevant. Jake Paul can get in the bin.’
