New York Knicks Gain Major Advantage Over Hawks in First Round of Playoffs

New York City fans are back to celebrating basketball as both their teams made it to the 2021 playoffs. But the NY Knicks are the ones taking over the chunk of postseason excitement after a long time.

Fans are hyped to see the Knicks clinch a spot for the first time since the 2012-13 season, and that is evident with how fast tickets have been selling out, despite the high price.

Knicks vs Hawks: High anticipation moment for New Yorkers

The Knicks are heading into the postseason against the Atlanta Hawks and the tickets for Game 1 and 2 are already sold out. On Thursday, the Knicks’ team management announced the unavailability of any more seats in the Madison Square Garden for the first two games.

This is really surprising and proves the excitement that fans hold at the moment to watch the likes of Julius Randle and the other players live. The Knicks sold out 15,000 seats to their fans, which is the largest capacity for this postseason after the coronavirus outbreak.

Huge number of fans expected to turn up at Madison Square Garden

A supportive crowd is a huge advantage that the Knicks possess for this playoff matchup. For a very long time now, the absence of fans has dialed down the momentum of games on the court. The Orlando Bubble was an appropriate representation of the same.

The crowd in the stands creates a positive surrounding for the players to take on their opposition because an adrenaline rush kicks in. Players have missed it for more than a year, and so many excited fans in the arena will bring that atmosphere back. The Knicks will be pumped up with the NY crowd chanting across the stands, and that may play in their favor as well.

Playoff Game 1 between NY Knicks and Atlanta Hawks will tip off on Sunday, May 23 at 7 pm ET, and then the next game on May 26 at 7:30 pm ET. The fourth and fifth-seeded teams of the East are locking horns soon; who’s your pick this time?
