UFC Fight Night: Font vs Garbrandt: Justin Tafa vs Jared Vanderaa- Prediction and Analysis

The heavyweight division in the UFC is perhaps the most exciting division given that almost every fighter in the division has legitimate one-punch knockout power. This weekend at UFC Vegas 27 two heavyweights will clash on the main card. Both men have secured a stunning number of wins via T/KO and can end the fight in the blink of an eye.

Justin Tafa takes on Jared Vanderaa as both men aim to bounce back into the win column after recent losses. Tafa and Vanderaa are currently unranked in the heavyweight division and a positive result on Saturday could help them take a step forward in securing a rank in the division.

Ahead of the fight, we take a closer look at the fight and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both fighters and map out a possible route to victory for both men involved.

Justin Tafa vs Jared Vanderaa will most likely not go the distance at UFC Vegas 27

Justin Tafa made his promotional debut in October 2019 when he succumbed to a knockout loss against Yorgan De Castro. He bounced back with a knockout win over Juan Adams before succumbing to another loss against Carlos Felipe in January this year, which was his most recent outing.

Jared Vanderaa made his debut on Dana White’s Contender Series with a TKO win over Harry Hunsucker. In his most recent outing, he succumbed to a TKO loss against Sergey Spivak in February this year.

Bad Man’ is a dangerous striker and has secured 100% of his wins via T/KO. He has landed an impressive 3.86 significant strikes per minute in the UFC thus far while absorbing just 2.65 in return. Tafa does not engage in wrestling and will most likely keep the fight on the feet.

The Mountain’ will have a staggering four-inch height and six-inch reach advantage over his opponent. He has landed an impressive 2.75 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 5.19 in return. He also averages 1.15 takedowns per 15 minutes with an accuracy of 100%.

Tafa’s wrestling defense will play a huge role in the outcome of the fight. If he is able to keep the fight on the feet, he will most likely secure a stoppage win given his power and Vanderaa’s leaky defense. However, If Vanderaa is able to secure takedowns and keep Tafa there for much of the fight, he will bounce back into the win column.
