Billie Piper made sure she brought the glitz and glam to the premiere of her film Rare Beasts, stunning in a shimmery silver number.

The actress and all-round queen celebrated her directorial debut, an anti-rom-com which she stars in alongside Leo Bill.

Billie, 38, had all eyes on her as she stunned in her gown, with makeup and shoes to match, posing alongside her musician boyfriend Johnny Lloyd, 33.

Meanwhile, the star was also supported by plenty of pals, including fellow former Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman, 35, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, 34.

Jenna looked stunning in a floral dress, with Emilia rocking a floor-length number as she smiled away while posing next to the director.

Billie stars as Mandy, a career-driven single mother, in the unconventional love story, which sees her fall for charming traditionalist Pete (Leo).

Chatting to Metro about the message that inspired the film, the actress, who has three children, pointed out that mothers are held to incredibly high standards.

‘There’s this message that you can have it all and do it all and that it’s not enough to just get through your working day – you have to be really successful and brilliant too,’ she explained.

‘I guess I’m coming to terms with male oppression,’ Billie added. ‘I know a fair share about it, even in its most passive form. I’m examining that now I’m a woman in my mid-30s who is living and working in what has been a man’s world for so long.’

‘I also love talking about how people behave badly in the face of rejection and how brilliant and appalling and funny and beastly we can be,’ she continued.

‘I love exposing that. I really like sharing the other sides to being a woman that aren’t often truly represented dramatically in a way that feels familiar.’

Billie has often been open about motherhood, including its low points, previously admitting that she struggles balancing work and family.

She told Fearne Cotton on the Happy Place podcast: ‘This idea of striking a balance is unachievable.

‘When I am at work all day long that shows in my kids, or in my relationship with my partner… If I’m not at work, it shows in me.

‘I cry at the end of every day and spend an hour in bed saying, “I’ll be better tomorrow, I swear.” I’m going to read my parenting manual tonight and everything will be better.’

Rare Beasts is out now.
