Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall faked backache to help hide Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards’ pregnancies
Jade Thirlwall has revealed that she faked backache in order to help hide her Little Mix bandmates pregnancies.
Both Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards are expecting their first child with their respective partners – with the two both making their announcement within days of each other earlier this month.
While Perrie, 27, is set to welcome a bundle of joy with her Liverpool football partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Leigh-Anne, 29, will become a parent alongside her Watford football player fiancé Andre Grey.
And Jade, being the best friend she is, had helped to keep their secret under wraps until the pair were both ready to reveal the news.
Speaking during a TikTok interview, the girl group revealed that Jade, 28, pretended to have the same symptoms as her pals.
Perrie explained: ‘We were pregnant at the time and so out of breath, but we didn’t want anybody to know… so like choreographers and things.
‘We didn’t want anyone to know so Jade was going “Oh, my back” and she was joining in!’
She added: ‘Leigh-Anne was going “My back hurts!” and Jade would go back, “Oh my back, I know, my back is gone!”’
Jade then chimed in: ‘Any excuse for me to sit out for five minutes… I was just like “Yeah me too!”’
Perrie then said: ‘We were all in it together!’
Friendship goals.
During the same interview, Leigh-Anne and Perrie also spoke about the heartwarming moment they found out they were both pregnant.
Perrie explained that she learned her fellow bandmate was expecting during a Zoom chat where they were discussing Little Mix’s plans together for the future.
It was during this conversation that Perrie and Leigh-Anne found out that the group’s manager is also welcoming a baby of her own in the future.
How sweet.
In the meantime, it’s business as usual for Little Mix, with both Leigh-Anne and Perrie cradling their baby bumps on the red carpet of the Brit Awards earlier this month – where the girls made history as the first all-female band to win the award for British group.
The two have also dressed up their bumps in the music video for their new single Heartbreak Anthem.
Meanwhile, former member Jesy Nelson – who left in December to focus on her mental health – recently signed a solo contract with Polydor Records.
