Tyson Fury to Earn More Than Deontay Wilder for the Trilogy Fight

The heavyweight division has come to life in the last few days with all the drama. After Deontay Wilder won his arbitration case regarding the trilogy bout, Tyson Fury had to give up the undisputed title bout with Joshua and face ‘The Bronze Bomber.’ And now, we have more details about their trilogy fight.

Reports suggest that the two heavyweights could meet as early as July 24. Furthermore, rumors also confirmed that Wilder signed his side of the contract while ‘The Gypsy King’ will do the same in the next few days. As a result, we now know how much each fighter will earn for this massive event.

Michael Benson from TalkSPORT was the first to report the news. He took to his Twitter to confirm that they would split the fight earnings 60/40 in favor of the 30-0-1 champion. Moreover, he revealed that they did not need any negotiations since it was part of the contract for the second bout.

The second fight between Wilder and Fury had a 50/50 split. However, the rematch clause included the winner would get a 60/40 split. And since Fury won, he will earn more than the former champion. However, this could still be less than his potential earnings with the ‘AJ’ event.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder’s demands

The report showed that Fury would earn more; however, it does not reveal any figures. The complete breakdown will also include the PPV share and other aspects. Therefore, we will only find out after the event. However, money was another topic of debate between the two.

Despite the ruling, Fury could have still faced Joshua for the undisputed title if they paid Deontay Wilder step-aside money. However, he claimed that Wilder demanded $20 million to step aside. And these demands did not go down well with the champion.

Unsurprisingly, Fury had a brutally honest reaction to this and said he would rather pay in ‘as* whoopings’ than pay any fighter any money to step aside. Thus, this showed the eagerness of ‘The Gypsy King’ to close the Wilder chapter once and for all.

What do you make of these reports? Do you think Fury deserves to earn more than Deontay Wilder?
