Was Lisa Kudrow pregnant when filming Friends?
The answer is yes, Lisa was really pregnant while on the hit show.
The 57-year-old actress was pregnant with her son Julian Murray Stern but, instead of hiding it, her pregnancy became a core plot of the show.
In season four we find out Frank and his wife Alice cannot conceive a child, so they asked Phoebe if she would be their surrogate mother through IVF.
Show writers had her character become pregnant with triplets, as this allowed Lisa to show off her real-life baby bump on screen.
Phoebe gave birth to the triplets in season five episode three and named them Frank Jr. Jr., Leslie, and Chandler. The actress then gave birth to her real-life son in 1998.
Julian is the only child of Lisa and her husband Michael Stern, and it looks like he could be following in the footsteps of his mother, as he already has special effects and makeup credits on his IMDB page.
He has also directed his own film Mind Made Up for his college thesis, which he recently revealed had been selected for the upcoming Portland Comedy Film Festival.
Lisa previously recalled how her son was ‘obsessed’ with co-star Jennifer Aniston, known for playing Rachel.
‘He got a little confused. I know that he really was obsessed with Jen,’ Lisa revealed on Conan O’Brien’s US chat show.
‘He’d fly into her lap. Well, she’s a love bug, and that made sense. And I was always glad for anyone that Julien felt love for and felt from.
‘But then at home, she’d be on TV, and he’d go, “Mommy!”‘
The Friends reunion will air on HBO Max on May 27.
