The Friends reunion we’ve all not-so patiently been waiting for is nearly here, with an official trailer for the episode recently being shared on social media in addition to US and UK release dates.

We were all whipped into a frenzy when the cast – made up of Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) – shared a short teaser for the episode.

The programme promises to be jam-packed with entertaining anecdotes and emotional moments, as the cast do a table read of one of the classic episodes and take part in a tense quiz.

While it will be shown on HBO Max in the US, UK fans have now been informed how they can tune in to watch the special as well.

Ahead of the TV moment of the century (too far?) here’s everything we know about the Friends reunion.

When is the Friends reunion on and will it air in the UK?

The Friends reunion, aka The One We’ve All Been Waiting For, will be airing on HBO Max on May 27.

It has now been confirmed that Friends: The Reunion will be shown in the UK on May 27 at 8pm on Sky One, the same day as in the US.

If UK fans can’t wait for the evening, they’ll also be able to watch the reunion from 8am on the same day on demand on Sky and streaming platform NOW.

In a tweet with a picture of the cast on their famous sofa, Sky TV wrote: ‘The One Where… we bring you Friends: The Reunion.’

Before the official announcement confirming the release date and channel for Friends: The Reunion in the UK, Sky TV posted a cryptic teaser online.

Sharing a picture of the back of the purple door to Monica’s apartment, Sky tweeted ‘We’re just going to leave this here… Watch this space in the next 30 minutes #FriendsReunion.’

Who will be at the Friends reunion?

It obviously wouldn’t be a proper reunion without the main Central Perk gang, with Jennifer, David, Courteney, Matt, Lisa and Matthew all returning for the special.

However, the cast will not be reprising their iconic roles, but chatting about their time on the show – and spilling some inside gossip.

They will be appearing alongside some of their former co-stars, with Maggie Wheeler (Janice), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Reese Witherspoon (Jill) and Tom Selleck (Richard) among those returning.

There will also be a host of celebrity guests and superfans getting in on the action, including David Beckham, BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Cara Delevingne.

The reunion will also be hosted by actor and talk show host, James Corden.

Could we BE more excited?

In addition to a short teaser shared by the cast, a trailer has also been released for Friends: The Reunion.

In the trailer, the cast – who have remained close over the years – walk back onto their old Friends set, reminiscing on the good times they shared.

At one point in the trailer, Jennifer consoles Matthew as her co-star becomes emotional.

Another portion shows the stars reading the script for The One With the Jellyfish, the first episode in season four of the sitcom.

What have the Friends cast said about the reunion?

While the gang have kept most of the details about the episode under wraps, Courteney promised that it was as great as we all assumed it would be.

Appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show recently, she told the host: ‘It was so unbelievable, so emotional.

‘It’s an unscripted reunion and we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time all of us in, I forget how many years. 15 years? 17 years?

‘It was great. It was really fun. We had a lot of special surprises – and it was fantastic. It really was.’

David Schwimmer gave a little more away while on The Graham Norton Show, adding: ‘I’ll be David. Nothing is scripted and we are not in character.

‘We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.’

We’re so ready.

Friends: The Reunion will to air on HBO Max in the US and Sky One in the UK on May 27.
