“Future James Bond”: Tennis Legend Chris Evert Labels Roger Federer As the British Spy
Tennis has seen many spectacular personalities, but when it comes to Roger Federer, no one comes close to matching the brand he is by himself. Along with being a successful sportsman on the court, he enjoys tremendous success off the courts too. Aside from being the highest-earning tennis athlete for over a decade, he bags a number of endorsement deals due to his fashion sense.
Roger Federer as James Bond?
Recently, Federer shot a commercial for Swiss Tourism, featuring a short conversation with Hollywood star Robert De Niro. After the clip became viral, he was asked if he would ever consider taking up acting. He distanced from the profession, stating he isn’t good enough to become one.
On hearing that, tennis legend Chris Evert amusingly stated, “Ok, future James Bond… (emoji)”

Over the years, Roger has displayed some of the most stylish outfits at social gatherings, alongside celebrities from various fields attend. In fact, he happens to be the only male tennis player to enjoy such privileges in social circles, such as receiving the invite to the Met Gala, one of the most exclusive events in America.
Roger Federer played his first match after more than a year
Moving on to tennis, Roger Federer returned to the men’s Tour after a duration of 14 months. After his semifinal match at the Australian Open 2020, he had to undergo multiple knee surgeries. Due to that, he was unable to compete and returned to the ATP 250 event in Doha in March.
Although he did not last long in the tournament, he was content with his performance, giving that he played his first competitive match after more than a year.
Following that, he played his next tournament in the previous week at the ATP 250 event on the clay courts in Geneva. He lost in his first match; there were moments during which the Swiss had the upper hand but couldn’t see the match off.
He is still training in Geneva and will proceed towards the French capital in the coming days. Roland Garros the next week and it will be interesting to see how far does the Swiss superstar goes in the second Grand Slam of the year.
