Piers Morgan shares his gratitude after getting second ‘amazing’ Covid-19 jab
Piers Morgan has shared his delight after receiving his ‘amazing’ second Covid-19 vaccination.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter – who left his role on the programme following an outcry and 57,000 Ofcom complaints over his views on Meghan Markle – had his follow-up jab at a centre in Chelsea on Saturday.
Piers revealed his status on Instagram, posting: ‘BREAKING: Double-jabbed & fully vaccinated… 💪👍’
The accompanying image showed the moment Piers received his Coronavirus shot, with an NHS worker pushing the needle into his arm while the masked media personality gave a thumbs up to the camera.
Not only was Piers thrilled to get his second dose, but he also seemed very impressed with how little time it took, writing: ‘In and out of the Violet Melchett Centre in Chelsea in 5 minutes. Amazing!’
He was also keen to praise the staff and volunteers responsible.
‘Thanks to all the medics & volunteers there, such an efficient operation, and such a vital one,’ he put.
‘Your nation is very grateful. 👏👏’
Piers’ ex-GMB co-host Susanna Reid commented with a flexed biceps emoji, while cricketer and former Strictly Come Dancing champion Darren Gough wrote: ‘Me 2 👍 🦏’
Other celebrities to have had the vaccine include Dolly Parton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Dame Judi Dench.
It came after the TV star let rip with his views on the UK’s performance during the Eurovision Song Contest last night, after singer-songwriter James Newman received the dreaded nil points from both the jury and public votes.
‘The UK didn’t get “nul points” in the Eurovision Song Contest because of some sinister revenge for Brexit,’ he wrote.
‘We got “nul points” because we had a crap song, performed by a crap singer who gave a crap performance. End.’
This year’s competition was won by Italy’s entrants, rock band Måneskin, who romped to victory at the last moment thanks to hundreds of votes from the public.
