Sean O’Malley Teases Next Opponent in Cryptic Tweet
Top of the food chain bantamweights, Rob Font and Cody Garbrandt, went the full 5-rounds in the main event of UFC Vegas 27. Font claimed a unanimous decision to continue his rise to the top. As they slugged it out, divisional contender Sean O’Malley kept a close eye on how things played out. ‘Suga’ tweeted out after the contest was over.
“Y’all thinkin what I’m thinkin,” O’Malley wrote. One might assume it was a shot from ‘Suga’ directed at both fighters. Maybe he is confident of his chances against either man after watching tonight’s fight?

Given both fighters’ KO prowess, many expected a quick finish to the contest. However, both took a rather cautious approach. The former champion, Garbrandt, who was looking to use his wrestling in the fight, landed some takedowns. ‘No Love’ had to resort to this as Font’s accuracy on the feet and his exceptional jab limited him from showcasing his own striking game.

‘Suga’ has been going back-and-forth with Garbrandt for a considerable amount of time. And now given that ‘No Love’ has lost three out of his last four, O’Malley might use the former champion as a stepping stone to catapult into the upper echelon of the UFC’s bantamweight division.
Moving ahead, UFC fans would expect Font, who is on a four-fight win streak, to take on an even higher-ranked opponent next. Cory Sandhagen is a name that is touted.
Is Sean O’Malley vs Cody Garbrandt the fight to make?
O’Malley returned to winning ways at UFC 260 as he knocked out Thomas Almeida in an impressive fashion. He ensured that his freak loss to Marlon Vera at UFC 252 was left far behind in the rearview mirror.
O’Malley also has a certain star power attached to his name. So has Garbrandt. Hence, a clash between the duo will certainly be enticing for the fans. And stylistically, the fight is as promising as any.
Should the UFC book ‘Suga’ vs ‘No Love‘ next? Let us know.
