The 18-0 boxer has no shortage of opponents. Moreover, he could also move up a weight class to challenge himself against the welterweights. This is something Taylor has hinted at in the past. He claimed he would love to face WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford in a blockbuster event in Scotland.

In addition, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ could face other challengers in the junior-welterweight division too. Jose Zepeda won his bout on the undercard, which could put him in contention. However, his lackluster performance could deter his chances.

Regis Prograis is another option for Taylor. The pair fought back in 2019, and the Scotsman got the better of the American. However, Prograis gave Taylor his hardest fight yet, and thus, could be in with a chance of a rematch.

Should Josh Taylor move up a division?

The options are plenty for the newly crowned undisputed champion. Moreover, Taylor achieved this feat in just 18 professional fights. This shows Scotsman is always open to facing the best in and challenging himself. So would a move up to welterweight make sense?

There is no doubt Taylor will cut it with the best at welterweight. Furthermore, the division is slowly becoming very exciting, with young challengers coming through while the champions are still in their prime.

In addition, the Crawford bout would be a fantastic event for fans and fighters alike. And after a performance like this, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ could attract the attention of the welterweight champion.

Therefore, considering he has taken over the junior-welterweight division, it appears a move to welterweight would be the best possible decision for Taylor. However, for now, the Scotsman can enjoy his hard-earned break.

What do you make of the Josh Taylor situation? Do you think he should move up to welterweight to face Terence Crawford?
