Former world number three and winner of the 2009 US Open title, Juan Martin del Potro has remained one of the unfortunate players on the ATP tour whose career was marred by injuries right from the beginning.
Known for his powerful forehand and huge serve, the Argentinian continued to battle against the odds and remained positive of a successful comeback.

Earlier this March, del Potro revealed that he would be undergoing a knee surgery in Chicago. The Argentinian remained confident about playing the Olympics this year. Even the doctor who performed the surgery expressed satisfaction over the quick recovery of del Potro.
But, there is an unfortunate news from the Argentinian to his fans as he will be having yet another operation on his right knee. While the details of the operation are yet to be revealed, this procedure might make it harder for del Potro to stage his comeback.

Ever since his first surgery this year, the Argentinian has expressed his imminent desire to play the Tokyo Olympics. Considering his physical condition, del Potro could be looking for a grand farewell by winning the gold medal at the Summer Olympics.
But, the big question remains: Can he recover from the operation quickly to play peak tennis once again?
Only Juan Martin del Potro knows the answer to this. But, it will be great for the sport of the Argentinian stages a solid comeback before calling it a day. Although del Potro’s career in itself is a story of struggle and comeback so far.
The Argentinian has an amazing record against the Big-3 of tennis. In fact, he is one of the few players to have registered more than three victories against Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal on the ATP tour.
With 22 ATP titles to his name, del Potro has thrashed top players as and when the opportunity arrived. His victory over Federer in the 2018 BNP Paribas Open(Indian Wells) was his last title. The victory also marked his first Masters 1000 title.
