The Stranger Things season four trailer dropped this month and there are plenty of theories which could spell trouble for Eleven.
The Netflix sci-fi horror series has become a huge hit with fans, and everyone is waiting with baited breath to find out what the Duffer Brothers have in store.
Eleven’s fellow test subjects could play a big role in the new season, with plenty of questions still surrounding the infamous Hawkins Lab and the evil Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine).
Namely, we still don’t actually know what happened to the test subjects, besides Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Kali (Linnea Berthelsen).
The season four trailer may have given us an idea of where things are going, with fans analysing the clip for clues about what’s to come.
In the teaser, we saw a group if children identical to young Eleven as they play with toys in a test facility.
The kids could be heard greeting Dr. Brenner in unison, but Eleven was still in her room, which suggests she was already rebelling against her captor.
If this scene was a flashback – which seems likely – then the question is what we can expect from the new season.
One theory is that the test subjects are the main villains in the upcoming series, as they try to hunt down Kali, Eleven and any other mutineers, or even those who simply know too much.

It would be a nice return to the show’s roots after the larger than life monsters took over as the big, bad villains over the past couple of seasons.
Here’s where things get interesting.
Another teaser trailer posted a few hours before the main one was titled HNL Control Room, showing CCTV screens in the lab where the subjects appear to have staged a bloody breakout.
If it’s a flashback, this could suggest the kids followed Eleven’s example and are potentially on her side.
However, some fans seem to think the clip could show a new lab with a new group of subjects, and they could still be the villains ready to cause chaos in Hawkins.
Of course, it was the kindness of Dustin, Mike and Lucas that helped keep Eleven on track – without that influence, this group could spell trouble.
Stranger Things airs on Netflix and is expected to return in early 2022.
