When is the UFC Coming Back After a Fourteen-Day Hiatus?

One of the key selling points for the UFC as a business is the frequency of their shows. There’s a UFC event every week, and fans just can’t get enough of them. However, there is no event this Saturday, something that doesn’t happen very often.

The last UFC event was UFC Vegas 27, featuring a main event fight between Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font. Font won the fight with an impressive display to cement himself as one of the contenders for the bantamweight title.

However, the UFC is shifting its focus to the heavyweight division with its next event.

UFC Vegas 28 or UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Sakai is headlined by a heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai.

Even the co-main event features heavyweights Walt Harris and Marcin Tybura. The event is going to be held on June 5th, 2021. Unfortunately, the card has been struck by cancellations due to COVID and injuries.

Angela Hill and Amanda Ribas were supposed to duke it out in the cage to determine who breaks into the Top-10 of the official rankings for the strawweight division.

However, Ribas was still struggling with post-COVID issues, and the fight had to be canceled for a second time.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Augusto Sakai: A potential contender for the UFC Heavyweight gold?

The Heavyweight division is often in conversation these days after Francis Ngannou beat the former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 260.

Since then, there have been talks of a title fight between Derrick Lewis and Ngannou. Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been thrown into the mix.

However, the rest of the division will try to capitalize amidst the chaos to put their names into the hat. Rozenstruik and Sakai are two strong heavyweights. Both of them are coming off of a loss, with Sakai losing to Alistair Overeem and Rozenstruik losing to Ciryl Gane.

Hence, a win is vital for both of them if they want to challenge for the title. With the knockout power that these two have, don’t expect the fight to last very long.

Who do you think should be the favorite for this fight?
