Courteney Cox has revealed her favourite ever episode from Friends and it truly is a golden Monica Geller moment that has defined New Year’s Eve celebrations ever since.
Need we say more?
If you haven’t got it by now, Courteney’s favourite episode is the season six landmark moment when Monica and her equally nimble brother Ross whipped out their dance routine from high school at the filming of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve – their dream come true.
Ahead of the long-awaited Friends Reunion coming to HBO Max and Sky One this week, the cast of Friends spoke to Good Morning America about the emotional special which fans have quite literally been counting down for since Rachel got off the place 17 years ago.
While Courteney picked the episode aptly titled The One With The Routine, her co-star Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, picked another classic.
‘I did love the one where everybody finds out,’ said Lisa, referring to the moment the gang discover Monica and Chandler are actually together. ‘Because I had very fun things to do.’
I don’t think any of us had any idea how emotional we would be when we walked onto the set,’ Courteney added.
‘To see it exactly the way it was – literally besides the cookie jar that Lisa took home and the neon coffee thing that Jen took – besides that, it was exactly the same.
‘And it was so emotional that we just started crying.’

A trailer for the episode finally arrived last week, with the cast – made up of Courteney, Lisa, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc – re-enacting an iconic episode, and Jennifer consoling a visibly emotional Matthew.
And fans in the UK will be able to watch the episode at exactly the same time as our pals across the pond when the Friends Reunion is available to stream on NOW TV from 8am on May 27.
The Friends Reunion airs at 8pm on May 27 on Sky One in the UK.
