“I Try To Make Myself Available”: Novak Djokovic on Inspiring Young Generation of Tennis Players

Besides being a supreme athlete, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is one of the nicest guys on the Tour. He is very warm to everyone associated with this beautiful game, especially the youngsters. The Serbian machine encourages the youngsters and is happy when they perform at the highest level.

Recently, Djokovic spoke about influencing the younger players from Serbia. He considers it as a responsibility because when he was younger he used to receive a similar kind of support from the established players. He always tries to keep himself available, whether it’s a phone call or when they catch up on the tennis courts, he regularly lends a word or two of advice.

The 34-year-old spoke on this topic and stated, “Inspiring younger generations of players is something that is very fulfilling and it’s also an obligation, I think, a responsibility for me to try to be a right example for them. I try to make myself available.

“Whether it’s a phone call or whether it’s time we spend on the court or off the court. I know how it is when I was younger. You know, I was always looking up for up to you know some of the players.”

Novak Djokovic wants to guide youngsters from Serbia

Novak believes it is important to guide the up-and-coming players towards the right path. Therefore, he takes the mantle upon himself. During the early years, it is crucial for youngsters to be groomed in the right manner as they are the formative years that would shape an individual’s career.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic further added, “Both men’s and women’s side from our country or from the region which was there high. I had an opportunity to play with or talk to and I know that advice has helped me a lot. It has a tremendous effect on my career so I try to put myself in their shoes and as I said to make myself available.”

At the moment, Novak Djokovic is practicing in Belgrade and will soon proceed towards the French capital, Paris where he will look to somehow conquer the titan named rafael Nadal to get his hands on his 19th Major.
