Khabib’s Manager: Mike Tyson Is Not an Icon, He Has Become a Culture, a Lifestyle

Mike Tyson is arguably one of the best boxers in the sport’s history. The legendary boxer became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at just 20, a record that stands even today. And now, famous MMA fighter manager Ali Abdelaziz has made a surprising claim about ‘Iron Mike.’

Tyson has always shown his humility when being compared to the greats of the sport. However, his incredible record means he is never out of the debate. And even at 54, Tyson is never far away from the headlines in the sport. This is primarily thanks to his podcast.

‘Iron Mike’ spoke to Ali Abdelaziz on another episode of his podcast, ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson.’ And the founder of Dominance MMA Management gave high praise to the former heavyweight champion.

People in Africa who don’t have water, they know Mike Tyson. People living in a mansion in Kings, they know Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson is not an icon, Mike Tyson has become a culture, a lifestyle, right? You know, everybody wants to be like Mike,” said Abdelaziz.

Is Ali Abdelaziz right about Mike Tyson?

Tyson was a phenomenon in the boxing world during his prime. Despite not being the biggest heavyweight, the hard-hitting heavyweight achieved incredible success. However, things were not all smooth sailing for the legendary boxer.

With all the success came bad habits and questionable company for Tyson. As a result, ‘Iron Mike’ found himself in tons of controversies during his best years and even spent time in prison. However, Tyson never shies away from talking about his struggles.

Since then, the former heavyweight champion of the world has changed his ways. He often talks about how he straightened his life out. And as a result, he is a constant inspiration to those who find themselves in similar situations.

Therefore, Abdelaziz is right in saying Mike Tyson is more than an icon. For many fans and upcoming fighters, Tyson is someone they can relate to on a much more personal level. Therefore, it is no surprise why the MMA manager referred to him as a lifestyle.

What do you make of this comment from Ali Abdelaziz about Mike Tyson? Do you think he’s right about ‘Iron Mike’ being more than an icon?
