Gemma Collins has returned to social media after a brief absence as she had been ‘poorly’, sharing an update on her health with concerned fans.

The TV star posted a photo on her Instagram Stories of a drip that had been inserted in her arm to aid recovery. She has also had a private nurse on hand throughout.

She had the company of her dad Alan, who was hospitalised with Covid-19 in January this year, as he popped round to make a fuss over her.

Gemma wrote: ‘Sorry been quiet guys I have been very poorly but I am feeling like I am back on the mend.’

Posting a further snap of her nurse she went on: ‘Thank you to my lovely private nurse nena for helping me and my lovely @sportiedoc (sic).’

Her following post was hopeful and suggested Gemma is on the mend, with the Towie star adding: ‘Thank goodness I finally feel like I can get back to normal.’

Another photo showed Alan, wearing a hi-vis jacket, sitting in her kitchen. She had added the caption: ‘Dad come to look after me and make me tea.’

The Dancing On Ice star also revealed a make-up free selfie in which she appeared relaxed with a hand running through her long blonde hair.

‘Slowly slowly getting there thank you everyone who has bared with me (sic),’ she wrote.

Lastly in her string of updates she added a short clip of Alan sorting out cups in the kitchen, wiping them dry and putting them away in the cupboard.

‘You okay hun?’ she asked her dad as she filmed him on her phone.

Gemma’s last Instagram post was three days earlier, and was a picture of herself enjoying a cup of coffee outside. The reality TV star confessed it had been ‘a tough week’ but didn’t give further details.
