VIDEO: Daniel Cormier’s Training With Kevin Holland Draws Hilarious Reaction
The UFC rising star Kevin Holland was on a five-fight winning streak since his last loss at UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs Weidman. Many people believed he was only a couple of wins away from getting a crack at the Middleweight title. In fact, ‘Trailblazer’ was riding the hype train before he got out-wrestled by Brunson in a five-round main event in March 2021.
Soon after the defeat, Holland took a short notice fight against another hungry fighter, Marvin Vettori, and lost in a similar fashion. Vittori controlled the fight for a longer period of time and did enough to earn a unanimous decision over his opponent.

After losing two back-to-back fights in a row, ‘Trailblazer’ was spotted while training and taking wrestling advice from the former multi-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier. While in training, ‘DC’ asked Holland, “My guy, how it’s going out here?”
To which, Kevin Holland replied, “it’s a piece of cake man. I’m teaching these kids pro wrestling. They have never seen wrestling like this before.” ‘DC’ spoke, “you haven’t been taken down yet all day right.” Holland answers sarcastically “So these kids I’ve got like 22 points to none,” and soon got taken down by a young wrestler.
Wrestling a Key Component for Kevin Holland
‘Trailblazer’ might be the most fun-loving character in the Middleweight roster, but he is well aware of the fact that wrestling is a must-have skill for an MMA fighter. Therefore, now he is working on his wrestling skills under the surveillance of Daniel Cormier.
‘DC’ is a former Olympian which makes him a legitimate wrestler. Holland will try to gain a lot of new techniques with his new mentor Daniel Cormier.
Wrestling is one of the key elements for a fighter competing at the highest levels. For now, there are champions like Alexander Volkanovski, Kamaru Usman, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and more who have successfully shown how effective the skill of wrestling is in order to become a top fighter in the UFC.
Although fighters like Israel Adesanya, Deiveson Figueiredo, and Max Holloway don’t like to wrestle, they still use it while defending takedowns.
Holland is an excellent striker and adding wrestling to his arsenal will make him a complete fighter.
