WATCH: Drew McIntyre Adds Exciting Move to his Arsenal During his Match Against Kofi Kingston on WWE Raw

WWE Raw kicked off with the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley addressing his loss to Kofi Kingston. Former champion Drew McIntyre interrupted up, so did Kofi, leading to a huge #1 contender’s match between the former WWE Champions.

#1 contender’s match ends in a lame no contest

Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston threw everything they could at each other. Kingston proved his win over Lashley wasn’t a fluke, and he could go toe-to-toe with the best. As for McIntyre, we tried his best to shut down the New Day member and face Lashley at Hell in a Cell,.

The match received enough of time for Kofi and Drew to build a great contest. McIntyre busted out some big moves, from the Alabama Slam on the apron to a bone crunching Michinoku Driver. It looks like the Michinoku Driver is now a permanent part of Drew’s arsenal, and it looked outstanding.

McIntyre even pulled out a sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall, after which Kofi fought back. Kingston sidestepped the charging Scotsman and followed it with a huge frog splash. With the WWE Champion now observing from ringside, Kofi took advantage and wiped out his opponent and Lashley.

In the end, the irate champion interrupted the match and assaulted both McIntyre and Kingston. The referee called for the bell and a terrific match ended in a disappointing, no contest. However, Adam Pearce straightened things out instantly.

Kofi Kingston vs Drew McIntyre II set for next week

After the no contest, Kofi and Drew approached Adam Pearce, the man who made the match official. Both men aired their grievances against Lashley’s interference, even though McIntyre taunted him too much. Pearce heard their complaints and made a rematch official for next week.

Pearce met with the WWE Champion as well, admonishing him for his untimely interference. He warned Lashley that interfering in next week’s #1 contender’s match could see him suspended for ninety days without pay. Despite his frustrations, MVP held the champion back and preventing serious trouble.

As for Drew McIntyre, he gets another shot at reclaiming his WWE Title by beating Kofi Kingston next week. The New Day member will try to revive KofiMania, but will he overcome the Scottish Warrior?
