Webber Warns Verstappen Fans of an “Extremely Dangerous” Lewis Hamilton After Monaco Defeat

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and Mark Webber believes that applies to the Lewis Hamilton – Max Verstappen rivalry. He believes that the Briton will be more dangerous after being defeated in Monaco. Hence, the former Red Bull driver tells the Dutchman to keep his eyes open in the upcoming race.

The Knight had his first defeat of the weekend in Saturday’s intense qualifying session itself. While he did make into the third session, he could only manage to be the seventh fastest on the grid. Verstappen not only started the race from P2, but he also gained an advantage when pole-sitter Charles Leclerc had to retire due to a gearbox issue.

Hence, the 23-year-old lead the race from the start and won the race. The Mercedes driver, on the other hand, had to settle for P7 for the first time this season. According to Webber, Hamilton would learn from his mistakes and be even more deadly behind the wheel in the race at Baku.

Weber feels that Verstappen should be aware of how Lewis Hamilton can be

As quoted by NOS, Webber said, “This is especially a valuable victory because it is such a tough race mentally. If you are not under pressure, you ride relaxed and that is very cool here. Max has kept that in good balance. It is on his hard drive. He now knows how this works.”

How does the driver’s championship look after the Monaco Grand Prix?

Every win in Formula One is important, and winning at Monte Carlo makes it even better. The Dutchman lead the race from the start and came out victorious after 78 laps around the circuit. The win earned him enough points to the lead in the championship for the first time in his career.

The seven-time world champion has fallen down into second place and holds 101 points to his name. While Max is just four points ahead of him, Hamilton would like to close the gap and reclaim the lead for the title as the season progresses.

The next round takes us to Azerbaijan for the sixth round of the championship. Verstappen would be confident heading into the race after winning at Monaco while Lewis would be looking to bounce and aim to win around the streets of Baku.
