“You Got Him Captivated”: Taylor Townsend’s Baby Starts Talking After Watching Bianca Andreescu Play
Canadian World No.7 Bianca Andreescu is one of the most promising young talents in tennis. However, injuries and setbacks have slowed down her career surge in the WTA. Slowly but surely, she is now building her A-game on tennis courts again.
Presently, the 20-year-old Canadian is contesting at Internationaux de Strasbourg in France. It is her first clay-court tournament appearance after the 2019 Roland-Garros.
Before this, Bianca missed the Madrid Masters and the Italian Open due to being positive for the coronavirus. But impressively, she won her opening match at WTA Strasbourg as if she had never been away from the clay. The Canadian defeated Spaniard Andrea Lazaro Garcia 6-1, 6-2.

The 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu delivered a standout performance in her opening match at Strasbourg. So much so, that American professional Taylor Townsend’s newborn baby approved her play.
Taylor had announced her pregnancy late last year and delivered her boy Adyn in March 2021. Fast forward, they both were catching live tennis action on their TV.
Surprising his mother, Adyn was enjoying Andreescu back in action. He even started talking a bit, making Townsend emotional.
Hence, the American professional shared their picture on her Instagram story. “You got him captivated. You got my man talking,” Townsend wrote to Andreescu.

Unquestionably, it is good news for Canadian tennis fans to see the 2019 Rogers Cup champion up and running again. Her last prominent stride on the WTA Tour came at the Miami Masters, where she withdrew in the final against Ashleigh Barty due to a foot injury.
Andreescu’s tough road ahead of French Open 2021
Bianca is playing at the WTA 250 Strasbourg as her only lead-up tournament to the 2021 Roland-Garros. Therefore, she will look forward to spending more time in the competition.
Given her complete absence in 2020 and being in and out in 2021, Bianca’s chances at the French Open pose a serious question. However, her strong belief and fighting spirit cannot go out of account either.
Most importantly, Bianca is feeling good on clay, and that is all she needs to continue until Roland-Garros. She will take on Belgian qualifier Maryna Zanevska in the next round.
