Kerry Katona breaks down in tears as she reveals pain over losing her ex husband and auntie to addiction
KERRY Katona broke down in tears this morning as she discussed losing both her ex husband and her aunt to addiction in just eighteen months.
The 40-year-old took to Instagram ahead of a TV appearance today to tell her followers why she was speaking out on addiction and she ended up getting very emotional.

She explained: “As you all know I lost my aunty to addiction. I’ve lost two people in 18 months to addiction. DJ’s daddy Georige to drugs and my aunty Angela to alcohol so I think it’s really important we speak about this.”
As what she said dawned on her, she was overcome with emotion, saying: “God, two people in eighteen months, I am going to cry.”
In March a devastated Kerry revealed her beloved aunt Angela had died following a battle with alcohol addiction.

At the time she said how Angela had tried to overcome her demons, writing: “This vile illness took our ang! We MUST talk more about addiction!!! She tried so hard to get sober but it got the better of her. 
Prior to that she was heartbroken when her ex husband George Kay died aged 39 following a drug overdose.
Kerry and George married in September 2014, five months after she had their daughter Dylan-Jorge.

Kerry overcame her own addiction battle 10 years ago.
In the early noughties her cocaine addiction, marriage woes and the loss of her £250,000 Iceland deal made her want to end her own life.
But after years of substance abuse she turned her life around when she checked into a fitness bootcamp with her mum before going to rehab in Arizona a decade ago

In a 2019 interview with The Sun, she said of cocaine: “I call it devil’s dandruff because it’s toxic, it’s manipulating, it gives a false sense of security, it’s not really there for you, it’s ruining you.”
She went on: “It’s an escapism. Taking coke is better than facing the scariest thing going on in your life. You’re constantly chasing that buzz and you don’t want the come down. The downers are awful.
“After taking drugs I used to have fits. My eyes would roll back and I’d be frothing at the mouth. I could have died, I could have chocked on my own tongue, my own saliva.”
