Love Island start date revealed – and there’s not long to wait
Love Island is making a dramatic comeback this summer and fans won’t have to wait much longer for their fix of the beloved ITV2 dating show.
After the disappointment of having last year’s series cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, ITV has confirmed that the show is definitely going ahead this time around – but when we hear you cry?
While the broadcaster has yet to announce an exact release date, a Love Island fan site claims the new chapter will be landing on television screens in one month’s time on Monday, June 28 at 9pm.
So, put it in your diary folks!
It’s believed the new season of Love Island is set to take place in Mallorca this year, meaning the new batch of singletons will be enjoying some time in the sun.
According to reports, it’s thought the crew will travel to their destination on June 20, with filming expected to begin a week later.
‘Crew members are scheduled to fly out to Majorca on June 20 – with the series expected to launch a week later,’ an insider claimed.
They added to the MailOnline: ‘The delayed launch date will not have an impact on the length of the series, with the show still running for a duration of eight weeks.’
Presenter Laura Whitmore was recently snapped filming a promo for the new series.
Laura – who took over from the late Caroline Flack as host of the winter 2020 series – was seen wearing a red jumpsuit for the shoot, which saw a street in Barking, East London, transformed into a tropical paradise.
New photographs captured of the Love Island villa in Mallorca recently showed the property in need of a thorough spring clean ahead of the new episodes.
Love Island is set to return to ITV2 later this year.
