‘Superstar Dwyane Wade Vouched For’: NBA Analyst Demands Jimmy Butler Step Up for the Franchise

Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat, for the most part, is the same roster fighting against the Bucks (Jrue Holiday and PJ Tucker as an addition) from last year. However, they’re not performing even with half the heart that the fans had seen in the Orlando Bubble. And that is one of the reasons they’re 0-2 with a blowout loss to close the latest outing.

The offense for the Miami Heat is a major problem as they don’t seem to have steady hands that can score each night. Also, with the Celtics suffering the same humiliation from the Nets, it appears that both Brooklyn and Bucks will close the series with 4-0 to meet each other in round 2. Is there any possibility this can change, at least for the Heat?

An NBA analyst has a waking call for Jimmy Butler

Recently, outspoken sportscaster Stephen A. Smith tried to school Jimmy Butler for underperforming in the series. He began by giving a sarcastic remark to Jimmy’s “I’m excited” remark after Game 2.

The journalist exclaimed, “I don’t know why Jimmy Butler is excited. I wouldn’t be excited if my team just lost by 34, 0-2 in the first-round series.”

He then pointed out how Dwyane Wade, a former champion with the Heat, had endorsed Jimmy Buckets on several occasions. It was DWade who recruited the star in the first place and hence it’s imperative that Jimmy does justice to that.

Just as SAS added, “Jimmy Butler is gotta step up. He knows it, everybody knows it. He has to be the superstar he always claimed to be. The superstar Dwyane Wade voucher for. To prove, the real Jimmy Butler is the one from last year, not the one critics are trying to diminish.

“The one we’ve seen in this series over the first two games. We’re gonna learn a lot about the Heat on Wednesday. I believe in that brother, he is real, he is legit. But you gotta play like that. Throw the passivity out of the window. You’re the franchise.”

What is going wrong with the Miami Heat this year?

A rookie in Tyler Herro was very much a reason behind the Heat’s resurgence last year. The shooting guard had averaged 16 points, 5.1 rebs, and 3.7 assists in his 21 games in the playoffs 2020. However, he is playing fewer minutes and falling miserably short in all those areas in the current series.

Bam Adebayo, who despite his injury last year, had averaged an 18-point double-double, is struggling with his effective scoring. Plus, an over-reliance on Duncan Robinson’s shooting means if he has an off night, the entire Heat takes a backseat.

But everything aside, the biggest concern is Jimmy Butler’s 25% FG and his excessive turnovers and failures. The Heat can’t function as a team that can beat Giannis Antetokounmpo if Jimmy does not become the wrecking train and Bam does not become the wall.
