Announcing the happy news, tournament’s chief operating officer Katie Haas said, “In keeping with the guidance from local government officials, we are eager to welcome fans back to the Western & Southern Open. The fans bring so much energy and excitement to our event, and we dearly missed them last year. We look forward to returning to Cincinnati and welcoming our fans at this year’s tournament”

The ATP tour resumed with Cincinnati Masters last year as it was played at a difference venue. The event was played at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tennis center also hosts the US Open Championships every year.

However, the Western and Southern Open wasn’t played with fans last year. On the women’s singles circuit, Belarusian Victoria Azarenka made a stunning comeback and reached the finals. She was supposed to play Naomi Osaka for the title. But, the Japanese withdrew from the final, making Azarenka the winner.

Going forward, the Western and Southern Open enables digital transactions for fans to purchase tickets. With fans pouring in, a lot of players will be interested to participate in the tournament.
